Games Theory

This is a chapter sample of my third-year university theory project where I look at LGBTQ+ genre affinity. In doing this I honed my research skills and deconstructed and analysed the complexities of genre.

This project required a lot of nuance and understanding as I was talking about a group of people and their affinities, which are almost never monolithic. Thus this project really pushed me to consider structure as well as utilising accurate yet efficient wording.

Video Essay

This video essay was my first foree into the video essay world and taught me a lot as well as built my confidence. While I had to things characteristic of essays, such as define phenomena using work from a larger corpus as well as using non-academic sources to see real-life implications of studied concepts. I also got to appreciate the medium for its visual and auditory interaction, while I could discuss ideas verbally I could also use visual indicators to further argue my points with relevant scholarly work to justify this interpretation.
